- Format:
- Octavo
- Bibliographic details:
- In part a reissue of Female Poems On several Occasions. Written by Ephelia (1679, ESTC No. R21721), with a new title page and 58 new pages (pp. 112-169) added on.
- Comments:
- The 'Second Edition' of Female Poems On several Occasions. Written by Ephelia (1679, ESTC No. R21721). This is in fact a reissue of unsold sheets of the 1679 collection, with a new title-page and 58 new pages (pp. 112-169) containing 'large Additions'. These additions comprise 35 poems by various authors; they transform what was a single-author collection into a miscellany of poems by several hands, though none of these poems are attributed to their (mostly male) authors. DATE: ESTC records the publication date as 1682. Mulvihill considers it possible that a manual cancel in the Huntington Library copy - altering the date in the imprint to 1684 - records the actual year in which the book was issued ('Ephelia', p. xvi; see References for full citation). INCOMPLETE: poems on pp. 162-168 not recorded due to missing pages in EEBO facsimile.
- Other matter:
- Dedicatory letter 'To the most Excellent Princess Mary, Dutchess of Richmond & Lenox', signed 'Ephelia': sigs A2r-A3r.
- References:

Vol. 8 in The Early Modern Englishwoman: A Facsimile Library of Essential Works, Series II, Printed Writings, 1641-1700: Part 2. This edition includes a facsimile reproduction of the 1679 Female Poems On several Occasions, unsold sheets from which were reissued as part of the 1682 collection. The 1682 collection is discussed on pp. xv-xvi.
