Bibliographic details:
Plates: frontispiece. After p12 (sig. A7v), sig A8 is cancelled (see stub). Replaced with new gathering “Bb”, starting curiously at sig. Bb2. These sheets are from T94652, which has no gathering A but commences with Gathering Bb, containing ‘An addition to the Satyr Against Man’, which poem starts at the line “All this with indignation I have hurled” (at p.11 in this edition T94652). Both volumes continue with Sig. Bb and register is then continuous from gathering C. It isn’t clear what has been replaced - there was presumably a gathering ’B’ at some stage but if so it is now lost. Sigs. Bb3-Bb4v are also pasted to stubs. MS mark of ownership on verso of title page “Sarah Taylor 1719”
Comments:
PAGINATION: p.91 is misnumbered ‘61’. P.126 and p.127 are misnumbered ‘125’ and ‘126’ respectively.
Other matter:
To The Reader' [2pp.]; Memoirs of Rochester (by Evremond in a letter to Mazarin) [32pp.] [32]; Alphabetical table of Rochester's works at close of volume.
